⚠️ CRITICAL: Beta Software Warning
UnboundBytes is BETA SOFTWARE in active development. By using this service, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- NO WARRANTY: The service is provided "AS IS" with ZERO guarantees of availability, reliability, or fitness for any purpose.
- DATA LOSS RISK: You may experience complete data loss at any time. We are NOT responsible for any data loss, corruption, or unavailability.
- SERVICE DISRUPTIONS: The service may be unavailable, unstable, or discontinued at any time without notice.
- ZERO LIABILITY: We accept ZERO liability for any damages, losses, or issues arising from your use of this beta software.
- USE AT YOUR OWN RISK: You use this service entirely at your own risk. Do not rely on it for mission-critical operations.
- BACKUP YOUR DATA: You are solely responsible for maintaining independent backups of all critical data.
IF YOU CANNOT ACCEPT THESE RISKS, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.
The Short Version
- This is beta software. Use at your own risk. We accept zero liability for any issues.
- You're responsible for your own infrastructure and the apps you run on it.
- We provide the platform to manage your apps, not the apps themselves (those are open source).
- 14-day free trial, no credit card required. After that, it's a monthly subscription.
- No refunds, but you can cancel anytime.
- Don't abuse the service. Don't do illegal things with it.
- We can change these terms, but we'll give you 30 days notice.
1. Definitions
- "Service" means the UnboundBytes platform, including the portal, orchestrator, and agent software.
- "You", "Your" means the person or entity using the Service.
- "We", "Us", "Our" means UnboundBytes and its operators.
- "Apps" means the open-source applications you deploy using our Service (Immich, Seafile, Vaultwarden, etc.).
- "Content" means any data, files, or information you store in your Apps.
2. Accepting These Terms
By creating an account, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other policies we post. If you're using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
3. What We Provide
3.1 The Platform
We provide a control plane for managing self-hosted open-source applications. This includes:
- A web portal for managing deployments
- An orchestrator for coordinating deployments and backups
- An agent that runs on your infrastructure
- Backup coordination and restoration tools
- Monitoring and alerting capabilities
- Automatic SSL certificate management
3.2 What We Don't Provide
We do not provide:
- The infrastructure where your Apps run (you provide that)
- The open-source Apps themselves (they're maintained by their respective communities)
- Guaranteed uptime for your Apps (that depends on your infrastructure)
- Support for customized or modified versions of Apps
- Data recovery if you delete your backups
4. Your Responsibilities
4.1 Your Infrastructure
You're responsible for:
- Providing and maintaining the infrastructure where your Apps run
- Ensuring your infrastructure meets minimum requirements
- Securing your infrastructure (firewalls, OS updates, etc.)
- Paying for your own infrastructure costs (servers, bandwidth, storage)
4.2 Your Content
You're responsible for:
- All Content you store in your Apps
- Ensuring your Content doesn't violate laws or third-party rights
- Maintaining backups of critical Content
- Complying with any applicable regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.) for your Content
We don't access, view, or control your Content. It lives on your infrastructure, not ours.
4.3 Account Security
You're responsible for:
- Keeping your account credentials secure
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately if your account is compromised
4.4 Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for illegal activities
- Abuse, harass, or harm others using the Service
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Use the Service to send spam or malware
- Overload our infrastructure with excessive API calls
- Resell the Service without written permission
- Use the Service to mine cryptocurrency (on our infrastructure)
5. Pricing and Payment
5.1 Free Trial
New accounts get a 14-day free trial. No credit card required. Full access to all features. After 14 days, you'll need to subscribe to continue using the Service.
5.2 Subscription
Our pricing is simple:
- One flat monthly price for the platform
- Optional add-ons for additional backup storage
- No feature tiers, no hidden fees
See our pricing page for current rates.
5.3 Billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. We use Stripe for payment processing. You authorize Stripe to charge your payment method monthly until you cancel.
5.4 Price Changes
We may change our prices, but we'll give you 30 days notice before any increase affects your account. If you don't want to pay the new price, cancel before it takes effect.
5.5 No Refunds
All payments are non-refundable. We offer a 14-day free trial so you can try before you buy. If you cancel mid-month, you keep access until the end of your billing period, but we don't issue refunds.
Exception: If we terminate your account for our error (not for violating these Terms), we'll refund any unused portion of your subscription.
5.6 Failed Payments
If a payment fails, we'll try again a few times. If we can't collect payment within 7 days, we may suspend your account. You'll still have access to export your data, but you won't be able to deploy new Apps or create backups.
6. Cancellation and Termination
6.1 You Can Cancel Anytime
Cancel your subscription anytime from the portal. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account becomes read-only for 30 days (so you can export data), then it's deleted.
6.2 We Can Terminate Your Account
We can suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Use the Service for illegal activities
- Abuse the Service or our infrastructure
- Fail to pay
We'll try to warn you first, but we can terminate immediately for serious violations (illegal content, attacking our infrastructure, etc.).
6.3 Effect of Termination
When your account is terminated:
- Your access to the Service ends
- We stop managing your Apps (but they keep running on your infrastructure)
- Your deployment configs and backup metadata are deleted after 30 days
- Payment records are retained for 7 years (tax compliance)
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our IP
The UnboundBytes platform (portal, orchestrator, agent core) is proprietary software. We own it. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it while you're subscribed.
7.2 Open Source Apps
The Apps you deploy (Immich, Seafile, Vaultwarden, OnlyOffice, etc.) are open source, licensed under their respective licenses (typically GPL, MIT, Apache, etc.). Those licenses govern your use of the Apps themselves.
See our licensing page for details on each App's license.
7.3 Your Content
You own your Content. We don't claim any rights to it. We don't even access it—it lives on your infrastructure.
